TCS LONDON MARATHON 2026

After several years applying, we have finally been allotted 1 charity slot for the 2026 London Marathon. We have chosen Amy George to represent Sasha Would’ve Loved It and to raise as much money & awareness for the charity. Amy is one of Sasha’s dearest cousins who is determined to keep Sasha’s spirit alive and push herself out of her comfort zone, starting her training from scratch. Amy’s sunshine personality brought Sasha so much joy in their years spent growing up together and has created invaluable memories to hold onto to push her through every minute and mile of the marathon.

AMY’S STORY

I am running the 2026 TCS London Marathon in memory of my beloved cousin, Sasha. Sasha was diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer in 2013 when she was just 17 years old. Sasha then went on to fight the toughest battle of her life for 2 years straight, undergoing major surgeries and numerous rounds of chemotherapy. Sadly Sasha lost her battle to cancer in 2015 at the age of 19.

I will be running for a charity called Sasha Would’ve Loved It. This charity was created by my Auntie Michelle, Sasha’s mum, back in 2018. After several years of applying for a space, they have been given one slot for the 2026 TCS London Marathon, which I have been lucky enough to be chosen. Sasha Would’ve Loved It raises money to help other teenagers and young adults, like Sasha, who are facing cancer. The money goes towards self care packages, experiences and much more for teenagers, young people and their families in Cornwall who are fighting this battle.

This is a charity very close to my heart. Anyone who knew Sasha would know she herself would never run more than 5K and will most likely be laughing at the thought of me attempting to run a marathon. Sasha was such a vibrant splash of life, fighting until the end, so I thought the least I could do to raise as much awareness is run 26.2 miles and push myself out of my comfort zone.

I am so grateful to anyone who can spare any amount of money to donate towards this wonderful cause. Every penny helps.

Thank You, Amy.
